BioProcure at Home: Working Remotely with Us

COVID-19 has impacted everything about our lives, including how we work. Living room couches have become the new desks, and kitchens the new offices. Video chats are the new conference rooms. Pings are the new door-knocks.

We’ve adopted a reality that many of us never thought possible: We work in our own homes, only interacting with others from behind the safety of our screens.

The BioProcure workforce was able to seamlessly pivot to working from home, maintaining productivity, focus, and most importantly, excellent customer service through the ebbs and flows of the pandemic.

Are you curious about what our company culture is like while the majority of us are working remotely? Or maybe you want to compare your work-from-home (WFH) setup to some of ours? We surveyed several BioProcure employees to find out what life is like for them as they continue to telework their way through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Where is your at-home workstation?

“My desk in my room, or sometimes on the couch in my living room,” says Aidan Ingalls from the Accounting team.

“The kitchen table,” says Ashleigh Howland from the Purchasing team.

Most BioProcure employees say they’re working from a combination of the couch, the kitchen table, or a home desk.

One of the biggest WFH pain points among our crew? Not having the nifty dual monitor setup we each have in the office!

What is your favorite part about working from home?

Lots of positives here. From not commuting, not risking getting COVID-19, and not having to get dressed for work, our team is undoubtedly making the most of this dreary situation.

Other WFH favorites include spending more time with children, family, and significant others and having more uninterrupted work time.

What do you miss most about being in the office?

The most common response to this question is that the BioProcure employees miss socializing with each other every day and meeting with their teams. Other than that, they miss having weekly catered lunches and other social events. They also really miss those dual monitors!

What are you and your team doing to stay connected while working from home?

Like many other companies, BioProcure uses Microsoft Teams to stay in touch while working remotely. It’s been immensely valuable when it comes to communication and collaboration across the organization.

Have you been able to learn and grow while at home? Are you supported?

When asked this question, the BioProcure employees surveyed answered with a resounding yes.

Some say working from home has motivated them to get more done on their own, therefore helping to improve their performance. Others say the reliability and responsiveness of everyone across the organization on Teams is a lifesaver.

What is one thing you look forward to when returning to the office?

“Being around everyone again!” says Tom Lovell from the Operations team.

“Seeing everyone and being able to interact more easily,” says Morgan Moyette from the Accounting team.

Additionally, BioProcure has found ourselves fortunate in that we have continued to grow during the pandemic. Many employees mentioned that they’re looking forward to meeting new hires when we all return to the office.
